Dates for John Mayer’s summer tour have been announced. Brett Dennen and Colbie Caillat will be the openers for the trek as Mayer continues supporting his album “Continuum,” which was released last year.

On July 2, the outing for the songwriter/singer will be kicking off at Summerfest in Milwaukee and then be traveling to 21 cities until early August. It will include a Mayer appearance at Rothbury Festival on July 6 in Michigan.

Dennen and Caillat, who accompanied Mayer last fall on his cruise ship “Mayercraft tour,” will be adding support for all the trek dates. Blackberry will be the sponsor for Mayer once again. They also sponsored his summer run of 2007.

Mayer is continuing to support “Continuum,” his Grammy award winning album which was released last year. It spawned the hit single “Waiting on the World to Change.” The set was the third full length studio album by Mayer, following “Heavier Things” from 2003. “Continuum” also marked the first time that Mayer served as producer on one of his albums.

In December Mayer is releasing “The Village Sessions,” an EP of six songs featuring bassist Pino Palladino and drummer Steve Jordan from the John Mayer Trio along with Ben Harper and The Pretenders’ Robbie McIntosh. The EP features alternate and acoustic versions of “Continuum” songs.

Billboard.com reports that this summer a new Blu-Ray package and CD/DVD set will be hitting stores, featuring last December’s live performance that was recorded at Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.
